Coming out to yourself can be the most complex thing we attempt to unpack. Often we are faced with confusion around what it means to be a part of the LGBTQ2S+ community and where we fit! Our LGBTQ2S+ consulting services are an opportunity for you to explore more aspects of yourself. This is also an opportunity to ask questions for understanding and solidarity around other members in your new community!
Coming out to your family or having a child, partner or sibling come out to you, while it is an amazing opportunity for honest and authentic dialogue, sometimes it just doesn’t go as planned. It is often an exchange that is highly emotionally charged and that too often causes hurt. The root to this hurt can be projection, confusion, denial, misinformation, guilt, shame, expectations etc.
Unfortunately, finding a safe place to ask questions about yourself and others can be challenging - this is where we come in!
We offer support to anyone experiencing the above dynamics. We use an anti-oppressive, trauma-informed approach that includes a combination of peer support, education, mediation and most importantly affirmation! Despite how complex and heavy these conversations can be, showing up for yourself and/or family deserves recognition!
